Provides entry-level participants the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel take over.

Prerequisites: Minimum age: 15 years; Swim 150 yards continuously; Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs, then swim 50 yards, Complete a timed “brick test” within 1 minute 40 seconds by starting in the water, swimming 20 yards, surface dive to a depth of 7-10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point, exit the water without using steps or a ladder.

This is a blended class – approximately one week prior to the in-person session, and you will receive a link through the email you have provided to complete the online portion of this course.  *** The online portion of this class will take approximately 6-8 hrs. to complete and is a required prerequisite to the in-person portion.

Participants who successfully complete the Lifeguarding course receive an American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED.

Friday 530 PM – 9 PM,

Saturday 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM,

Sunday 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM

Participants must possess a valid, non-expired Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.

This class is taught in a blended learning style.  Participants will receive a link to online work which must be completed prior to the start of Friday’s in-person class.

Participants who successfully complete the Lifeguarding course receive an American Red Cross 2-year certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED.
