Summer Playground Program Exeter Township
Welcome to the YMCA of Reading and Berks County Playground Program – where fun meets growth! Our program is designed to provide a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for children who have completed Kindergarten, through Age 12. With a commitment to nurturing physical, social, and cognitive development, we offer a dynamic mix of activities to keep your child active and inspired.
5 REASONS WHY CHILDREN SHOULD EXPERIENCE YMCA PLAYGROUND
- Play and Learn: Our playground program is a vibrant space for play and exploration. Children have the opportunity to engage in age-appropriate activities that foster creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Physical Fitness: We believe in the importance of staying active! Our program incorporates a variety of sports, games, and physical activities to promote a healthy and active lifestyle.
- Educational Enrichment: Learning is a continuous journey, even during playtime. Our program includes activities that stimulate cognitive development, encourage curiosity, and enhance academic skills in a fun and enjoyable way.
- Supervised and Trained Staff: Your child’s safety is our top priority. Our program is led by dedicated and trained staff members who create a supportive and nurturing environment for all participants.
- Inclusive and Diverse: We celebrate diversity and inclusion. Our program welcomes children from all backgrounds and abilities, creating a community where everyone feels valued and respected.
PLAYGROUND PROGRAM GOALS
- To provide a memorable, educational, enjoyable, and enriching experience for youth.
- To help children grow mentally, physically, socially, and spiritually.
- To help children develop good character.
- To help children gain an appreciation of outdoor activities.
- To help our staff develop and refine leadership skills.
CLARIFICATION OF GOALS
The above goals align with the goal of the YMCA: to help people reach their full potential in spirit, mind, and body. We teach children to develop and maintain physical fitness, to grow in faith, and to interact with others in a healthy manner. In addition, everyone in our camp exemplifies good character through positive interactions.
At our playground programs, children learn to develop a strong rapport with their counselors and their peers. Our programs create enriching experiences that a child will remember for a lifetime.
